1 teacher for every 5 children

                Preschool (2.5 to 5 years)
1 teacher for every 8 children

JK/SK (children MUST be attending school)

**Our centres are approved for 2.3 ratios for the first 2 hours and the last two hours of each day.

**Our centres are approved for 20% mixed age grouping. This provides an opportunity to enroll a child not quite of the Toddler or Preschool age.

What does my child need to bring to daycare?

                Backpack or bag (labeled)
At least ONE complete change of clothes (labeled)
                Indoor Running Shoes
                Water Bottle
In winter extra mittens (one for morning and one for afternoon)

For children who sleep, we do supply blankets and sheets, however if your child has a special blanket or sleep toy he/she may bring it.

Will you administer medication if required?

We will administer prescribed medication or Tylenol/Advil/Motrin if accompanied by a doctor’s note. Medication must be in the original container. It is a good idea to ask your pharmacist to split the dosage into two bottles so that one can stay at daycare.

Can my child attend daycare if he/she is sick?

If your child is not feeling well, we do encourage you to keep your child home. A general rule of thumb is to consider whether or not your child will be able to participate in all aspects of the program including indoor and outdoor activities. Children who are vomiting, have diarrhea or a high fever will not be permitted to attend.

Children who become ill during the day will be sent home. We require children to be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to the centre

Do I get a refund if my child is away due to illness or vacation?

Our fees are calculated based on our costs and the children enrolled in our programs. As such, we cannot offer refunds if your child misses a day due to an illness, vacation or other absence.

Does my child have to go outside?

Yes, the children go outside everyday (weather permitting). There are wonderful developmental and health benefits to active outdoor play.

What is your strategy for behaviour management?

Our teachers have been trained to provide positive child guidance techniques. Some of these strategies include:

Verbally guiding the child – at the child’s level

Redirecting the child to another activity

Sitting with the child to complete a task

Provide a quiet activity to allow the child to "re-group"
